Another Week in iPhone Photos

At the beginning of the week we tried painting in the bathtub sans water.  I just let him paint on the side of the tub and when we were done, I just rinsed it off. tada! Super easy. We will do that again.

Les is becoming my little helper and May is now sporting thigh rolls. love. I put them in matching pj’s and tried to take a picture of them sitting next to each other… you know, that cute sibling photo.  One I thought they might cherish forever, but Les had other plans.  He caught sight of the remote and it became cry fest 2012.

We went to the zoo on Wednesday. Les’ favorites were the monkeys and the giraffes but his favorite of the favorites was the carousel. I recorded it on my phone and now every time he sees my phone, he wants to watch himself. May’s favorite part of the zoo was me. ha. I will take it because someday soon I will no longer be able to compete with the carousel with its animals and lights and fancy music.

Here are some pictures of my sweet May.  I can’t get enough striped leggings on those thighs.

Les is experienced play dough for the first time.  I followed this recipe to make my own. It was so easy, makes a lot, smells good and I don’t have to worry about him eating it because it is edible (although, it only took one taste for him to realize that is did not taste like it smelt).  Also, I ran out of table salt so I just used garlic salt and it worked perfectly fine.

We also finger painted with yogurt!  I just divided a yogurt cup, added some food coloring and put in on his table. He mixed them around and took breaks from playing to have a bite.

A week in iphone photos

this week we had a fabulous time visiting a large rat and playing his games.  his name was chuck e cheese. who on earth would have thought that a rat as a mascot for a kids pizza and game joint would have gone over so well.  not this gal. we had a wonderful time.  mayson was a little angle and les quickly learned what those little metal coins did.

les painted for the first time this week. i’m pretty sure he liked the water more than the paint. makes no difference to me…. he was happily entertained for about half and hour. he also decided to take his art to the wall. thankfully it was only chalk.

the rest of the week was spent playing, forcing les to wear the monkey backpack long enough for me to take a picture, a couple walks, a trip to the park and lots of cuddles.

Hello again.

It has been so long since I posted on this here blog that this happened:

And then this happened:

And we became this:

One of my resolutions this year is to document our family happenings better and to do that by blogging.  I’m hopeful.

Do you like my new do?

I previously mentioned that I got a haircut. Well? What is the verdict? Does it make me look “hip” or what?

How about my facial expressions? huh? huh?

If not the hair, how about this….Two, not one, but TWO teenagers at church this past Sunday told me that they liked my dress.  I think that means I am officially “hip”. Either that or I dress way too young. I choose to disregard the latter.

So What…

… if I occasionally dance in the shower.

… if I opened the sunroof of my minivan, rolled down the windows, turned up the Taylor Swift song playing in the background and felt “cool”.

… if I went to the grocery store all by my lonesome and was convinced that a weirdo in the grocery store was watching me get into my car.  I was certain that he was going to follow me home, then realize that I am a stay at home mom, then pay me an unexpected visit.  Any ladies out there get this feeling or am I a nut? I know, I know… my imagination can get the best of me, but I decided it was better to be safe than sorry. Right dad?  So I quickly thought, what could a girl do that would deter a creep-o from following her home? Then I had it. It was embarrassing and slightly gross, but I was willing to make a fool of myself in front of my fellow grocery store connoisseurs in order to drive away this possible nut. My embarrassing & slightly gross idea was that I could pick my nose… so I did! Gasp! I mean, I didn’t actually pick it, I just put my finger in there and pretended. I didn’t go for anything. Don’t lie to yourself… you know you’ve done it.

… if I can’t wear sunglasses while driving because it makes me dizzy.

… if I went through a phase when I was young where I would make my bed and then ever so gently climb into it so as to not disturb the neatly made bed.  I would then try to sleep in such a way that I could slowly climb out in the morning and not have to re-make it.  Not sure if this was because I was borderline OCD or if I was just lazy. The jury is still out on that one.

I will leave you with a photo of my little man taken this afternoon….

The Love Month

In honor of the love month I thought I would share a few things I am lovin’ on lately.

But before you get all crazy on me, screamin’ things like, “Don’t you love Jesus?  Your husband? Your son? Your family? Your dogs? Don’t they deserve a place in your month of love post? ” Of course they do, above all else …but this is about trivial stuff people.

Nutella

I remember having this for the first time in Germany a few years ago and thinking, “this stuff is good” but not until my past grocery shopping trip did I see that pretty little jar of heaven and decided to place it in my grocery cart next to the other room temperature items (Yes, I organize my grocery cart as I shop).

Taco Bell’s Quad Steak Burrito Commercial

Every time this guy comes on the television I drop everything (unless of course I’m holding Lessie Gee) and gaze upon its goodness. I really only like one part…. the “whole hunk of cow” part.  It gets me every time.  I don’t have any desire to try the New Quad Steak Burrito but man, I am sure glad the Taco Bell Corporation decided to create it and then make a commercial about it. In the rare case that you have not seen this commercial, I have posted it below for your easy viewing pleasure.

Humidifier Instruction Manual

Weird, I know but hear me out.  My little 1/4 Korean bundle of joy has been sick with RSV (he is doing so much better now… those yummy gummy smiles are back) so I went to the local Babies R Us establishment and purchased a humidifier because I was told that it would help with his breathing.  When I got home my mom and I were looking at the manual, because that is what women do, and noticed a very important disclaimer that I happen to think is HIL-AR-I-OUS! This is very important people.  I’m not sure what I would have done if they had not informed me of this, but according to the manual, one should not stand on the humidifier. They even provided me with a visual… you know, in case common sense & the written word failed.

Dymo Label Maker

For those of you who don’t know….I love to organize.  I love all things containers.  I love for everything to have a home. And I now love for those homes to be properly labeled.  I achieve this mild obsession by using a Dymo Label Maker.  I might have labeled the milk. No, no I didn’t but that is only because we don’t have any right now.

Parks & Rec

I’ll have a Rob Lowe with a side of Rob Lowe, please. nuf said.

Les: Month Four

Christmas Eve – We went to the Candle Light Service at Prestonwood Baptist Church and then had dinner at Patrizio’s with Mimi, Papa B, Uncle Garrett & Aunt Whitney.  You sat in Papa’s lap contently looking around watching everyone and then slept during the meal.  After dinner we went to Mimi & Papa B’s for presents. Papa made a fire, we drank hot chocolate and did lots of laughing.  It was such a fun night.

Christmas morning – Your mommy couldn’t sleep… she was way too excited about your first Christmas morning and had too many things to do before we left for the airport. You woke up Christmas morning and cuddled in bed with daddy for a little while, then had a bottle and played under your play mat while mommy and daddy sipped their coffee and enjoyed their annual cinnamon rolls from a can. Don’t worry; you will be able to partake in these at a later date.

Trip to Maryland & Pennsylvania – Mimi & Papa B picked us up around 9 am to take us to the airport for your first trip to Maryland and your first ride on an airplane.  You did Amazing with a capital “A”!  You slept the entire time both there and back.  We were so proud of you…. You are such a good baby.  You met your Uncle Chris, Aunt Tiffany, Brennon, Torrey, Reagan & Aubrey for the first time.  They were so excited to meet you!

January 4 – we bought a minivan!!! What have you done to me J I am now a minivan mom.  I NEVER thought I would be so excited but it is amazing.  When you are old enough to understand, I’m pretty sure you will love it.

January 5 – was the first time I heard you really laugh.  You have been giving us glimpses of a laugh but this was a full out laugh.  It was about 11 AM and you were lying under your play mat on the ottoman (You were already happy because you were working on a dirty dirty) and I was talking to you and leaned over to tickle your waist with my mouth (hard to explain) and you let you the most joyful sound.

Bath time is one of my favorite times with you. You get this serious look on your face, you don’t laugh or cry, just serious.  You kick and flail your arms and legs like it is your job. It is so funny. Don’t worry… You will be able to watch yourself when you are older because we have you on video.

Your hand-eye coordination is WAY better.  I guess it’s not better, it just exists now.  You have been grabbing things that we put in front of you (the toys that hang on your play mat and the toys that hang on your bouncy seat).

Everything you get your hands on is immediately making its way to your mouth.

Slobber, slobber, slobber! You are one slobbery little man.  I think teeth are on their way.

You are wearing 3-6 month and 6 month clothing.

I start missing you when you sleep all night or take a really long nap.  I can’t wait to go in your room and un-swaddle you. You arch your back, stretch your arms above your head and make the most adorable face.  After your stretch you usually give me the biggest smile, like you are so happy to see me, like you miss me too. I then proceed to pick you up and get a quick cuddle before you realize that you are starving.

Four months:

Weight: 19 lbs. 2 oz. (>100% off the chart!)

Height: 25.5 in. (75-90%)

Head: 17.3 (95 %)
